Retail Setup
The Retail Setup menu allows users to import, create, synchronize, and manage retail items.
Navigate to Settings à Retail Setup à Retail Setup.
Click Create Item. The Create Retail Item screen is displayed.
Refer to the following table and fill in the details.

General Information |

Copy Item |
Enter the Item Number of an existing retail item. All field values of the existing retail item except for the item number will be populated in the respective fields. Users can modify these if preferred. |

Autogenerate Number |
When enabled, system auto generates an item number based on the previously created/added item numbers. The system also updates the Barcode # field with the same item number. Users can modify the item number and barcode number if required. |

Item Number |
An item number for the retail item |

Item Description |
The name of the retail item. |
|
Sales Price ($) |
Default sales price of the item. |
|
Member Price ($) |
Default sales price of the item for membership holders. |
|
Current Item Cost ($) |
Cost price of the retail item. |
|
Margin Percentage (%) |
System displays the profit margin on the item based on the sales price and cost price. The profit margin is calculated using the formula ((Sales Price - Current Item Cost)/Sales Price) *100. |

Barcode # |
Barcode number for the item. |
|
Secondary Barcode # |
A secondary barcode for the item. |
|
Taxes |
Enable the taxes that must be applicable for the retail item. |

Category Information |

Category |
Select a preferred category to which the retail item must belong. |

Sub-category (1-5) |
Select a preferred retail sub category to which the retail item must belong. |
|
Commissionable Item |
When enabled, it indicates that the retail item is commissionable. |
|
Commission Required |
When enabled, it indicates that commission must be added for the retail item. |
|
Use Inventory |
When enabled, the item is added to the inventory and the item quantity is tracked constantly. |
|
Disposable Item |
When enabled, it indicates that the retail item is a disposable item. |
|
Retail Item - Retail POS only |
When enabled, it indicates that the item is a standard retail inventory item that will be sold on a transaction. |

Rental Item |
When enabled, it indicates that the item is a rental item. |
Click Next to navigate to the Other Information tab.

Grouping Key |
When enabled, it indicates that the retail item is sold as a package item with other retail items. |
|
Scaled Item |
When enabled, it indicates that the retail item is a separate item and requires a unit of measure. This toggle is available for selection only if the Grouping Key toggle is not enabled. |

Unit Of Measure |
Select the preferred unit of measure from the Unit of Measure drop-down list. This field is available for selection only if the Scaled Item flag is enabled. |

Miscellaneous |

Inactive |
When enabled, it indicates that the retail item is inactive. Inactive items will not be displayed in the Shop module. |
|
Open Item |
When enabled, system allows the user to change the name and the price details of the retail item at the time of billing. The name and price entered at the time of billing will be posted on the folio. |

PMS Package Item |
Allows the retail item to be configured as a PMS package. |

Require Comments |
Prompts user to enter a comment for the retail item in the Enter Comment field when the specified item is added to the cart. |

Request Name |
When enabled, it indicates that a guest profile must be added to the transaction in the Order Summary screen. The following message is displayed if the user makes a payment without attaching a guest profile: Guest is required to be attached to the transaction. Please select a guest. |

Gratuity & Service Charge |

Gratuity |
Gratuity option is accessible only if the retail item is a rental item. When enabled, it indicates that a gratuity value is required for the retail item. |

Auto Gratuity (%) |
The gratuity percentage of the retail item. |
|
Service Charge |
Service Charge option is accessible only if the retail item is a rental item. When enabled, it indicates that a service charge is required for the retail item. |

Auto Service Charge (%) |
The service charge percentage of the retail item. |
|
Printing Information |
|

Hanging Ticket |
When enabled, it indicates that the preferred retail item to use hanging bar code tickets instead of default labels. This option requires a supported Zebra printer. |
|
Small Sticker |
When enabled, it indicates that the preferred retail item to use small bar code stickers instead of default labels. This option requires a supported Zebra printer and a six digit or less bar code number. |
Click Next.
